Thomas M. Cook, CPA
Tom graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in June 1991 with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Tom has been continually licensed and a member in good standing of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for over 20 years. Tom started his career and obtained his CPA license while working for KPMG in Silicon Valley. Shortly after becoming certified, Tom left KPMG to work inside large corporate tax departments. First at Netcom On-Line Communication Services, then at Guidant and finally at BEA Systems. In 2002, Tom accepted a position at Glenn Burdette and his family relocated to the Central Coast. In 2003 Tom purchased the firm that is now known as Five Cities CPAs, Inc.
In 2016 Tom joined with other members of San Luis Obispo Collaborative Practice to bring the Collaborative Divorce to the Central Coast. After having been an expert witness in several litigated divorces, Tom is truly passionate about bringing Collaborative Divorce to the Central Coast. Tom believes in the Collaborative process and its benefits for the individuals and the post divorce family.
